Umuzi and the African Coding Network have partnered with Unicef South Africa to bring you the Digital Skills 4 Girls Programme. This is an exciting opportunity for any interested young women to gain coding and other digital skills early!
What is this opportunity?
This opportunity has been designed to get you exposed to some of the most in-demand skills in the digital space. In this programme you will have the opportunity to partake in one of two pathways:
Pathway 1:
Coding challenge
Introduction to Computer Programming (Khan Academy course)
Introduction to Basic Game Development using Scratch (Coursera Guided Project)
Pathway 2:
Coding challenge
Google Digital marketing & E-commerce (Coursera)
Earn an industry recognised Grow with Google Certificate
Includes social media marketing and is great for budding entrepreneurs!
Most content is accessible on your phone.
You will be able to do the programme work part-time if you have commitments like school or work. Just a little bit done every day goes a long way!
Who is this opportunity for?
You do not need any prior experience in coding or digital marketing for this opportunity, just a keen interest in either coding, digital marketing or both!
Applicants must be between 14-25 years old
Applicants need to be South African citizens
Applicants should have a keen interest and ambition to pursue a digital career
Applicants must be highly self motivated, dedicated and ready to learn.

How do the applications work:

The online aptitude test takes less than an hour to complete and helps us assess your skills so that we can allocate you to the pathway that suits you best!
Pathway 2 will only be available to learners who perform strongly on the aptitude test.
